Kathy Scannell Palghat is directly responsible for Kapstream's research and strategic alliances.

Prior to joining Kapstream, Ms Palghat served as an economist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of African Nations from 1990 to 1996. Whilst at the U.S. Department of the Treasury she was responsible for monitoring and analysing the economic and financial situation in a portfolio of African countries. Additionally, she drafted briefing papers concerning those countries for senior Treasury officials and U.S. Executive directors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Previously, Ms Palghat worked at The World Bank as a research assistant for the Office of Latin American and Caribbean Nations in Washington, D.C.

Ms Palghat holds a BA in International Affairs from Lewis and Clark College and a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs (Economics and African Studies), from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington D.C.
